The Amison Family Tree Pottery Marks Charles Amison (& CO. LTD.) was based at the Stanley China Works, Wedgwood Street, Longton. Wedgwood Street was renamed Amison Street in 1953. Over the years, the factory took various names and often changed the stamp mark found on the base of the ware. The post 1900 stamps incorporate the trade name Stanley. Below you will see several examples of the known marks and the period they were used. These examples are taken from "Encyclopaedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks by Geoffrey A Godden."   Impressed initials, 1889+. The 'L' stands for the place name Longton   Printed mark for 1906 to 1930   Printed mark for 1930 to 1941. The factory closed 1941 to 1945. A similar mark with "Made in England" was used from 1946 to 1949   Printed mark for 1949 to 1953   Printed mark for 1951 to 1962.
